Claiborne Bishop
Owner of The Barracks
Claiborne Bishop owns The Barracks along with her husband, Tom. She has run The Barracks for over 4o years! She has led the team to 10 ANRC Championships as well as multiple IHSA National Championships. Along with the team, Claiborne trains The Barracks clients and runs A-rated horse shows.
Maria Shannon
Trainer
Maria grew up at The Barracks, learning from her mother, Claiborne, and Glen Moody. In 1996, Maria graduated from Hollins University. While in school, Maria rode on the IHSA team, winning two times at the IHSA Nationals in the open over fences division.
She turned professional in 1998 and has been training and riding ever since.
Maddie Bonner
Trainer
Maddie, a Virginia local, is a recent graduate of Emory and Henry. During her college time, she rode on Emory and Henry's IHSA and IDA team. In 2019 she was the Z4 R5 Champion in the Intermediate Over Fences division. In 2020, she was the Region H Reserve Champion in Upper Training DSE.
